Paul Weller "Stanley Road" Go! Discs/London/Polygram Various Artists "The Songs of XTC: A Testimonial Dinner" Thirsty Earįinally, a tribute album for on of the greatest bands of all time. I look forward to hearing lots more from these guys. Spookey Ruben "Modes Of Transportation Vol. Nice to see 80's glam-rock make a comeback. Spacehog "Resident Alien" HiFi Recordings/Sire/EEG The album that got me into industrial music again. Good thing there are 14 other great songs on this album. Never want to hear the "Friends" theme again. Primus "Tales From The Punchbowl" Interscope The Presidents of the USA "self titled" Columbia I can highly recommend all of their albums. This band kicks ass! They are absolutely the nicest bunch of guys around. Not quite as good as the early Peter Murphy albums, but a nice album just the same. Peter Murphy "Cascade" Beggars Banquet/Atlantic I had never heard of this band until this album. If you liked previous M+M this is worth a listen. I do like this album despite the above review. The songs didn't have the same familiararity of the others. It's definitely my least favorite M+M album. I was a little dissapointed with this album. Mike & The Mechanics "Beggar On A Beach Of Gold" Atlantic

Letters To Cleo "Wholesale Meats and Fish" RepriseĨ0's Brit-pop? Damn straight! Glad to see the return of fun pop music. What's even better is to hear them perform it live. They're baaaack! What an incredible album. Juliana Hatfield "Only Everything" Mammoth/Atlantic Incredible! Poppy! This is the definition of a catchy album. The Greenberry Woods "Big Money Item" Sire This may be what The Smiths would sound like if they were still around today. Shirly has a great voice! Seriously, this album has an incredible selection of songs.

I've never been a big fan of Butch Vig, but this is one of my favorite albums of all time. Some members have gone on to form the band PROBE. Unfortunately, they broke up shortly after Warner Bros. Give Discovery a big hand for picking this album up when Capitol wouldn't. What a great album! Now available in the US under the name FINN BROTHERS on Discovery Records. I rediscovered it a few months later and have been listening regularly since.Ĭollective Soul "Collective Soul" Atlanticįrom the brothers who brought the world Split Enz and Crowded House. It should be!Ĭatherine Wheel "Happy Days" Fontana/Mercury

Too bad it's not available here in the USA. This is a more "electronic" album than any of their others. Tracy Bonham "The Burdens of Being Upright" Island The Bogmen "Life Begins At 40 Million" Arista/BMG Probably their best offering in a few years. Clicking on the ALBUM COVER or ALBUM NAME will take you to a place to purchase that particular CD.Ģ Minutes Hate "Let It Eat" Ardent RecordsĪ more raw sounding follow-up to their 1994 album. Here's some of my favorite/recommended music for this year.
